On this recording with the Kansas City Symphony, conductor Michael Stern presents three one-movement symphonic works by Samuel Barber, Jean Sibelius and Alexander Scriabin, recorded in the Helzberg Hall of the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts in Kansas City, which is highly praised for its fantastic acoustics. Production was done by David Frost, seven-time winner of the GRAMMY® Classical Producer of the Year award. Reference Recordings’ technical director Keith O. Johnson and sound engineer Sean Martin are responsible for the recording.

Music Director Michael Stern is in his second decade with the Kansas City Symphony in 2021, which has been hailed for its remarkable artistic rise, original programming, and extraordinary growth of its diverse audience since its inception. The orchestra, founded in 1982, is the largest in the region and enjoys an excellent reputation.
