Giuseppe Verdi: Messa da Requiem (2CDs, Br-Klassik)

In the wake of the Verdi year, BR-KLASSIK is adding a live recording of a concert highlight from October 2013 with Mariss Jansons as well as the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and Choir to its discography. With the Messa da Requiem, Jansons, who died in 2019, is also represented with the great choral symphonic legacy of the Italian opera composer on the BR-KLASSIK label. In addition to an international team of soloists (Krassimira Stoyanova, Marina Prudenskaya, Saimir Pirgu, Orlin Anastassov) and the symphony orchestra, the Bavarian Radio Choir with its sonic versatility, which the specialist press has particularly emphasized, is a key element in the Verdi Requiem.
