The four symphonies form the climax in Johannes Brahms’ symphonic work and are at the same time forward-looking and innovative in many ways. In these live recordings from the Wiener Musikverein and the Herkulessaal in Munich under the direction of Jansons, who died in 2019, the beauty of Johannes Brahms’ symphonic creativity comes to the fore.
