Beethoven: Missa Solemnis (Bernard Haitink) (CD, Br-Klassik)

Bernard Haitink, who has been working with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra for over 55 years, has already made several recordings on the BR-KLASSIK label. After Bruckner’s Fifth and Mahler’s Ninth Symphonies as well as Haydn’s Creation, BR-KLASSIK is now presenting a live recording of Ludwig van Beethoven’s Missa solemnis, a work that is now available on the record market for the first time under the baton of Bernard Haitink. The musical partners of the grand seigneur among the world-class conductors are the choir and symphony orchestra of the Bavarian Radio and a finely tuned soloist ensemble consisting of Genia Kühmeier, Elisabeth Kulman, Mark Padmore and Hanno Müller-Brachmann.
