Beethoven: Symphony Nos. 4 & 5 (Mariss Jansons) (CD, Br-Klassik)

The Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra has performed several concerts with Beethoven symphony cycles. His former chief conductor Mariss Jansons, who died in 2019, has expanded this cycle idea in many ways: to concerts in Tokyo’s Suntory Hall with its excellent acoustics, to specially commissioned compositions in which contemporary composers have contributed their own musical reflections on Beethoven symphonies, as well as on the presentation of the outstanding concert events in live recordings in the sound carrier market. The live recordings of the symphonies No. 4 and No. 5 by Ludwig van Beethoven were made in 2012 in the Suntory Hall in Tokyo.
