In 1968, singer, keyboardist and guitarist Al Kooper formed the band Blood, Sweat & Tears with other members of the Blues Project. Even if the formation should have significantly more commercial success in the 1970s, the debut album is considered by critics and fans to be the best and most lasting release. Child Is Father To The Man remained the only LP under bandleader Kooper and is comparable to seminal albums like The Zombies’ Odessey and Oracle and Love’s Forever Changes.
