Dave Brubeck Quartet – Ndr 60 Years Jazz Edition (2CDs, Moosicus)

With the release of a Dave Brubeck concert recorded in February 1958, Moosicus Records, together with Norddeutscher Rundfunk, is continuing its “NDR 60 Years Jazz Edition” series. At that time, the Dave Brubeck Quartet was touring Europe for the first time, stopping in Hanover, where the NDR recorded the concert. It was the classic and best-known Brubeck line-up that performed in Hanover: alongside Dave Brubeck (piano), Paul Desmond (saxophone), Eugene Wright (bass) and Joe Morello (drums) played. This quartet was one of the most popular in jazz history. Shortly after that tour, the four recorded the seminal album Time Out in 1959. The remastered (direct metal mastering) concert in Hanover shows the band in excellent form. The liner notes are in German, English and French, the LP will be released on 180 gram vinyl.
