Frank Zappa – Waka/Jawaka (LP, Univrsal)

This year “Waka/Jawaka” & “The Grand Wazoo” celebrate their 50th anniversary. To celebrate half a century of this groundbreaking phase of Zappa’s career, both albums will be re-released as box sets and single LPs on December 16th. Entitled Waka/Wazoo, a 4CD + Blu-Ray audio set will be released in the new stereo mix, offering a complete historical overview of Waka/Jawaka and The Grand Wazoo. Included are alternate takes of almost every composition recorded during the album sessions, as well as outtakes and oddities from the archive. The final show of the tour, recorded on December 15, 1972 at San Francisco’s famous Winterland Ballroom, is also part of the box set. In addition, “Waka/Jawaka” and “The Grand Wazoo” will each be released as 1LP, pressed at 180g.
