Studio recordings were not the strength of the band Grateful Dead, which gained a huge fan base mainly with their live performances. For their seventh album, From The Mars Hotel, they moved into Studio A at Columbia Records, which had just been updated for Simon & Garfunkel. Recorded essentially live on 16-track tape machines, the album continues to be acclaimed for its fidelity and brilliant dynamics to this day.
Shawn R. Britton did the remastering for the hybrid SACD. The limited edition of 2,500 copies appears in a mini LP cover with a consecutive serial number. A must for all Deadheads and those who want to become one!
