For “The World of Hans Zimmer – A Symphonic Celebration”, Hans Zimmer has rearranged his greatest hits and created powerful concert suites for the orchestra, choir and the impressive line-up of soloists in his band. In each concert suite, Hans Zimmer processes the most striking melodies from a soundtrack and develops them into a new, self-contained symphonic work. The music from The Dark Knight, The Da Vinci Code, The Lion King, Pirates of the Caribbean and M:i-2 Mission: Impossible 2 sounds like never before. An exciting new listening experience in which the great band of well-known soloists and singers also play their part. Among the renowned musicians there are also long-time musical partners of Hans Zimmer, Gavin Greenaway (Musical Director), Lisa Gerrard and multi-instrumentalist Pedro Eustache as well as the new star singer of the Vienna Opera Valentina Nafornita. The album was recorded with the ORF Radio Symphony Orchestra Vienna and the choir Neue Wiener Stimmes, conducted by Martin Gellner, at the Konzerthaus Vienna as part of the “Hollywood in Vienna” festival. “The World of Hans Zimmer – A Symphonic Celebration” also includes concert suites of the film scores of “King Arthur”, “Pearl Harbor”, “Rush”, “Madagascar”, “Spirit”, “Kung Fu Panda”, “The Holiday”, “Hannibal,” “Gladiator” and “Inception.”
