Itzak Perlman – Cinema Serenade (UHQCD, Sony Music)

Cinema Serenade was born in 1992 when the world’s leading film composer John Williams collaborated with one of the world’s finest violinists, Itzhak Perlman, to set Steven Spielberg’s Schindler’s List to music. For this collection of film scores, the two musicians created new arrangements centered around Perlman’s violin. Williams conducts the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Perlman’s solos open up the compositions, give them more air and show that this film music works just as well in the concert hall as in the cinema.
