Just two months after recording his album The Sidewinder (which would soon prove to be a surprising hit), trumpeter Lee Morgan went back to Rudy Van Gelders studio to record Search For The New in February 1964 with an all-star sextet Country. When the album, which introduced five new Morgan originals, was released in 1966, it also charted on both Billboard’s “Black Album” (now Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums) and “Pop Album” charts place. BLUE NOTE CLASSIC VINYL EDITION: Stereo, completely analogue, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original master tapes, pressed on 180g vinyl at Optimal.
