Paradisi gloria 21 under this title, four recordings of world premieres of sacred works of the 21st century are combined on this CD. All compositions are commissioned by Bayerischer Rundfunk and show the wide range of contemporary sacred music in different line-ups: while the works of Oriol Cruixent and Gerd Kühr deal with the Magnificat theme, Joanna Wozny and Johanna Doderer approach the figure of the Mother of God in their compositions Maria. With the Munich Radio Orchestra and the Bavarian Radio Choir, two ensembles with great experience in interpreting new music are available here. The Paradisi gloria concert series, initiated by Marcello Viotti in 2000 and continued by Ulf Schirmer since 2006, forms the heart of contemporary sacred choral and orchestral music in Munich’s musical life and also enjoys an international reputation.
