The album with the unusual name, which came from the original Warner catalog number, contains the most successful song by the folk-rock trio: “Leaving On A Jet Plane” stayed at number 1 in the US charts for weeks. But “I Dig Rock and Roll Music” also made it into the top ten. Overall, stylistically rather atypical for the trends of the time, the album was nevertheless a great success and is one of the most important recordings by Peter, Paul & Mary. Despite all excursions into more rocky realms – in fact, electronically amplified instruments can also be heard here – PPM inspire above all with their wonderful three-part harmony singing. The remastering by Kevin Gray gave it even more space and depth. The re-release by Analogue Productions as a double 180 gram at 45 rpm literally transports the listener back to the studio.
