Richie Beirach Trio – What is this thing called love? & Summer night(2CDs, Venus)

Pianist Richie Beirach studied piano and jazz at Berklee and at the Manhattan School of Music. He took lessons from Stan Getz, Dave Holland and Jack DeJohnette. His many sideman jobs included key appearances with Getz, Lee Konitz, John Abercrombie and Chet Baker. Beirach’s classical training can sometimes be heard in his improvisations, which show the sensibility of a Bill Evans.
