Shostakovich – Barber: Symphony No.5, Adagio (SACD, Reference Recordings)

With Shostakovich’s 5th Symphony and Samuel Barber’s Adagio For Strings, Manfred Honeck and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra now present another audiophile recording. The hybrid multi-channel SACD comes with a detailed booklet in which Manfred Honeck gives insights into the genesis of the works and describes his approach as a conductor. The track, which appears in the FRESH! Series, was recorded and mastered by the Soundmirror team from Boston.
