On November 25, 1976, Canadian rock band The Band gave their farewell concert at Winterland, San Francisco. An unforgettable party that ended up lasting over five hours, featuring band companions such as Paul Butterfield, Muddy Waters, Eric Clapton, Joni Mitchell, Neil Diamond, Van Morrison, Bob Dylan, Emmylou Harris and Ringo Starr, and last but not least was captured on celluloid by Martin Scorsese. This double hybrid SACD is Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab’s first to be mastered with 4x DSD. It appears in a solid cardboard slipcase with an extensive booklet containing numerous photos.
MoFi is now releasing the legendary concert re-mastered from the original master tapes by Shawn R. Britton, bringing whole new details to light. The stage seems to stretch far beyond the confines of the speakers and the musicians sound beautifully separated. Feel like a VIP as The Band play their last hits, from Ophelia to Up on Cripple Creek, The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down to Stage Fright! Limited edition with consecutive serial number.
