Universal Music in Hong Kong presents the most successful XRCD from their program to date in a revised version as K2HD. The new version is even more airy and dynamic than the previous XRCD2 version and consequently replaces it.
The band members were asked in 1980 when will you play together again. When Hell Freezes Over was the bitter reply. Fourteen years later the time had come. The band had an incredible comeback. The DVD version of ‘Hell Freezes Over’ has been used as an example of perfect music video for years.
This CD is part of a series of Universal Music K2 HD productions made at the instigation of the Hong Kong national company. This national company takes over the distribution of FIM productions in Hong Kong and was itself surprised by the enormous success of the FIM K2 HD discs, since otherwise such expensive products cannot be sold in large numbers. That’s why some enormously popular productions at Hakamata Takeshi, who as the mastering engineer is also responsible for the FIM productions, have been reworked by the JVC FLAIR Studio in Tokyo. The K2 HDs are manufactured by Memory Tech in Japan and come in a beautifully designed hardcover booklet similar to the FIM productions. As with FIM, the CDs are also protected in a fleece sleeve.
