Bruckner: Symphony No. 5 (Bernard Haitink) (Hybrid SACD, Br-Klassik)

When Bruckner’s cathedral buildings are mentioned, this term best applies to his 5th symphony. It is a prime example of the most complex polyphony and at the same time a moving creed. The longing for the divine light, for hope through faith, these ideas are conveyed in the music and touch the listener directly. The concert document presented here comes from January 2010, when Bernard Haitink, one of the world’s most renowned conductors, made a guest appearance with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. The concert was recorded to the highest technical standards as a hybrid SACD with multi-channel and stereo sound.
