J. Brahms – Symphonies Nos. 1 & 4 (Mariss Jansons) (Hybrid SACD, Br-Klassik)

One year after the successful publication of the 2nd and 3rd symphonies by Johannes Brahms, this double CD was the complete recording by the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Mariss Jansons. At the beginning of 2012, Mariss Jansons completed the recordings of the 4th Symphony in Munich’s Herkulessaal. With the 1st Symphony (Beethoven’s Tenth), she completes an overall picture of Johannes Brahms’ symphonic work, which is always based on the great model Ludwig van Beethoven, but always innovative.
