Joe Beard – For Real (Hybrid SACD)

For Real, blues guitarist Joe Beard teamed up with Duke Robillard, Bruce Katz, drummer Per Hanson and Rod Carey. Jerry Portnoy, who has already impressed Muddy Waters and Eric Clapton as an overwhelming harpist, is also on board for four titles. A selection of Beard compositions and reminiscences of Lightnin’ Hopkins and John Lee Hooker can be heard.
